Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) – Rooted in Ritual

Yarrow grows wild along meadow edges and field paths across Europe — a modest plant with feathery, finely divided leaves and flat clusters of small white and pink flowers. Its botanical name comes from Achilles, which tells you how long people have been paying attention to it.

In the cup it is earthy and faintly bitter, with a dry, herbaceous aroma and a subtle floral note. Yarrow is not sweet and does not pretend to be. It gives a blend backbone.

In Our Blends

Yarrow is the base of MeriLuna, where it meets mint, primrose and licorice root. Its slight bitterness is what keeps that blend from becoming too soft — the counterweight that lets the floral notes read clearly.

We gather ours by hand at the height of summer, when the flowers are fully open.
